# Adea checks its first number with you

After it reads your database, Adea shows one number and asks: does that match what you see?

When you connect a source, Adea studies it and writes down in plain words what it understood: what a booking is, what counts as an active member, which column holds the date. Then it shows you one number, such as your active members today, and asks whether it matches what you see.

If it does, you go on knowing Adea is reading your data the way you do. If it doesn't, tell Adea what the number should be, and it learns the rule you meant.
