# Connect PostgreSQL

Add a PostgreSQL database with a read-only user, and Adea starts learning it.

You can now connect PostgreSQL. Create a user that can only read, enter the host and the database name, and Adea tests the connection one step at a time: it reaches the database, signs in, checks that the user can't write and reads the list of tables.

Adea never writes to your database. If the user you give it is allowed to write, Adea says so and refuses to connect until you take that right away.
